China Can You Please Be Original?

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2011/03/07/intv.koo.on.youku.cnn?iref=allsearch

China has come out with a new site called youku. It is a combination of Netflixs, Hulu, and Youtube. Is this original? Or is China just making a "pirated" version of already existing sites and changing/adding a few extra bells and whistles. Honestly in my opinion China needs to come out with something of their own creations rather than always making a ripped off version of everything.

  1. I believe that there are only so many markets open to internet companies in today's world, so there is no way any one company can start without stepping on another one's toes (so to speak). China is starting out late in the game, so most fields have been tried before, obviously they would target the ones that have shown to be successful in the past, that's just common sense.
While I can understand the frustration with China and its pirating reputation, I don't see how they are doing any different from any other country. They just do it bigger.
