Pollution in China

If China wants to expand their economy, they must first address the swiftly growing pollution issue. If they continue to use the same methods of development, the air will become fully clogged by pollution and water would be unusable. What's the whole point of having a successful country if you can't even bear to live in it? With the Beijing Olympics, the air quality was so horrible that it was unsuitable for the athletes. China must continue to focus on cleaner forms of energy and move away from the traditional source: coal.

  1. The conflict between the environment and the industry is one that all emerging and developed countries experience. China especially has to worry about their affect on the environment because they are growing rapidly which usually means the environment will be damaged more severely, but because the population is so dense, the environmental damage will be felt more heavily than in places where less people live. Hopefully, China will find a balance between industrial growth and environmental preservation.
