More Tibetan Restrictions

The important Tibetan ministry, Kirti, is now on lockdown after the March 16 voluntary suicide of a young monk. Chinese officials have put up barb wire fencing and issued statements prohibbitng the religious practices of the monks. The younger brother and uncle of the monk who committed suicide have dissappeared, and are presumably detained.

  1. This is another example of how the human spirit screams to be heard, regardless of the social environment. The Chinese government's reaction to the protest was very predictable. They seem to believe that they can control through brute force, but the human psyche does not work like that. People tend to react negatively to pressure, and the Chinese government needs to realize this before the protests and social unrest in China will diminish.
